Miss Catherine Fisher
Hello! Welcome to my online teaching portfolio. Here you can find:
About Me
I was born in Cincinnati, and grew up northwest of Cincinnati, in Oxford, Ohio. In 2009, I graduated from Talawanda High School. In order to pursue my lifelong dream of becoming a teacher, I decided to attend Miami University and major in Early Childhood Education. My decision to attend Miami was heavily based on the outstanding reputation of their undergraduate college of education. I have since graduated from Miami University in May 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education. I will have completed the courses for the Reading Endorsement in summer of 2013 through Ohio University's graduate program, and plan to complete the coursework for the Early Childhood Generalist Endorsement in the fall of 2013.
My semester long student teaching internship occurred at Central Academy Nongraded Elementary in Middletown, Ohio. My placement was in an Early Primary classroom, consisting of twenty four students typically in Kindergarten and First Grade, ranging from four to seven years of age, including students with special needs. During my internship, I was responsible for planning and implementing lessons in all curricular areas, planning and executing small group intervention lessons in literacy, attending all team and building-wide meetings, communicating with parents and guardians, attending all after-school programs and events, monitoring and tending to classroom management, analyzing and interpreting assessment data, and assisting in the writing of individual narratives, and attending all parent-teacher conferences.
I am currently seeking a full-time elementary teaching position K-3 in the Columbus or Cincinnati area.
Please feel free to contact me with any additional questions at [email protected]. I look forward to hearing from you!
